Note: This section covers the installation of Avilinga Translation Connector to Sitecore Experience Manager version 10.
The connector is provided by Avilinga as a zip package to install with Sitecore Installation Wizard:
1. In the Sitecore Desktop menu go to Development Tools, Installation Wizard.
2. Click the Upload Package button.
3. Choose the Translation Connector zip file provided to you by Avilinga and click Next.
4. Check the Overwrite existing files option on Avilinga Translation Connector package update and click the Upload button.
5. Confirm the package selection by checking the Name field with the automatically selected uploaded Avilinga Translation Connector package and click Next.
6. Verify the package information and click Install.
7. Set the checkboxes to restart the Sitecore client and restart the Sitecore server and click the Close button.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed the Avilinga Translation Connector for Sitecore!
To configure the Avilinga Translation Connector, navigate back to the Sitecore desktop and follow the next steps:
1. In the Sitecore Desktop menu go to Avilinga Translations.
2. In the Avilinga Translation Connector window, select the Profile menu item from the Settings section.
3. Configure the Profile as follows:
- Select correct Avilinga Endpoint.
Note: select Stage for testing and UAT, Production for billable jobs only.
- Set Username and Password as provided by Avilinga.
- Click Connect.
4. Continue to configure the Profile as follows:
- Set Default Workflow from options on your Avilinga account.
Note: for testing and UAT please select Machine Translation only.
- Set Default Cost Centre from cost centers associated with your Avilinga Sitecore API user.
- Set Automatically approve quotes as required.
- The recommended setting for Send anonymous usage log data to help in resolving issues is ON.
- Click on Save Profile.
Avilinga API accepts the following ISO standardized language codes by default:
- ISO 639-1 example: de (German)
- ISO 639-1 plus ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 separated by an underscore example: de_CH (Swiss German)
- ISO 639-3 example: GSW (Swiss German)
Should your sites deviate from these standards you will need to set custom language mappings.
1. In the Avilinga Translation Connector window select Language mapping from the Settings menu section.
2. The Sitecore Content Editor window appears with the preselected Avilinga Language Mapping folder.
Note: Avilinga Language mapping folder is located at the following path: /sitecore/System/Modules/Avilinga/Language Mapping
3. Select Insert > Insert from template context menu item of the Language Mapping folder.
4. Select the /Avilinga/Language Mapping template and set the Item Name corresponding your Sitecore language configuration. Click Insert.
5. Set the Avilinga Language Code for the newly created Language Mapping and click Save.

Avilinga Translation Connector services are available for administrators and users with the sitecore\Sitecore Client Translating role. Confirm that all users who are going to use the Avilinga software have the specified role assigned.
The sitecore\ServicesAPI user must be enabled in your Sitecore environment for normal Avilinga Translation Connector operation.
